How we sort results

You should be able to find the offer that suits you without a long search. That is why we order every results list according to fixed rules. What they are — and where we only show offers from our partners — is set out here.
1. Flights
Above the list, you choose between three orders. The default is “Best”.
- Best combines price and travel time: the price counts for 60 per cent, the total travel time for 40 per cent — each measured against the cheapest and the fastest offer in your search. Each stop is added as a surcharge worth 20 per cent of the cheapest price — so a direct flight comes first unless the connection with a stop is significantly cheaper.
- Cheapest orders by price alone, Fastest by travel time alone.
- If two offers are tied, the cheaper one comes first.
The “Direct flights only” switch hides connections with stops; it does not change the order of the rest.
Only offers from our partners are shown (for example Kiwi.com and Aviasales, depending on the search). We receive a commission from them if you book with them through us; your price does not change as a result. The commission has no influence on the order — only price, travel time and stops.
2. Hotels
Accommodation, prices and reviews come from the Google hotel search. We only show accommodation that at least one of our partners offers for your travel dates. We check this for each property individually in the offer comparison of the Google hotel search. Our partners pay us a commission if you book with them through us. We hide properties that none of them offers, even if Google lists them. This does not change the order of the rest.
Exception: For some destinations, Google lists hardly any prices from Booking.com, even though Booking.com offers accommodation there — currently in Kosovo. There we cannot check which properties Booking.com offers, and so we also show properties without a checked partner offer: without a price, in the position where Google lists them, with a link to Booking.com. Whether such a property is available there for your travel dates and what it costs, you only see at Booking.com. Properties with a checked partner offer appear in between with a price as usual; only they receive awards, and when sorting by price, the properties without a price come last.
The default order (“Recommended”) is the one in which Google lists the properties for your search. We adopt it with one exception: if you are searching for two or more guests or with a child, and our partners’ cheapest price for a property only applies to beds in a dormitory, the property is placed after the others and receives no award. We label such prices “Bed in a dormitory”. After that come the further properties that Google names on its map for the area shown, in Google’s order.
The price shown for each property is our partners’ cheapest offer for your travel dates, as stated by the Google hotel search. You can order the list yourself: by this price per night, by the best guest rating or by the number of reviews. All properties then appear together in this order, properties without this information at the end. The filters (price per night, free cancellation, guest rating, hotel class, amenities) are applied by Google; for the price, our partners’ price also counts. The list follows the map: if you move or zoom it, the map loads the properties for the new area from the Google hotel search, and the list only shows the properties within the map area (properties without a known location always remain). “Saved only” narrows the list in the same way. Neither changes the order.
With the “Recommended” order, the app and the website show “Your best options” above the list: at most four properties from the first page of results, each with one award, according to fixed rules. “Value for money” goes to the lowest total price confirmed by the provider among the properties with a rating of at least 4.0 from 50 reviews, if it is at least 5 % below their median price. “Best rating” goes to the highest guest rating on Google with at least 100 reviews, “Best location” to Google’s highest rating of the location, if it is at least 4.5. “Best match” only exists if you have given preferences in the app: for the property that matches them best (see above), with at least 70 out of 100 points and a clear lead over the next one. An award requires at least 3 comparable properties, the selection at least 5 with a price; if there is a tie, there is none. A price only for beds in a dormitory receives no award for two or more guests or with a child (see above). Each property carries at most one award — if it deserves several, we mention the others alongside it instead of giving them to another property. Commissions play no role in this.
For the offers for a property, we only show providers we work with through a partner programme. We receive a commission from them if you book with them through us. Other providers that Google lists, including the hotel’s own website, do not appear there. The offers are labelled “Ad”.
They are listed by the total price for the whole stay, in ascending order, including taxes and fees, as stated by Google. If there is no total price, the price per night multiplied by the number of nights counts. Offers without a price come last. The offer with the lowest total price is at the top and highlighted in colour. Whether a provider appears depends on our cooperation; where it appears depends only on the price. The amount of the commission plays no role in this.
Under “Rooms and rates”, only rooms from our partners are listed, in the order in which Google lists them.
3. Car hire
We query QEEQ, DiscoverCars, CHECK24 and Sunny Cars at the same time. We combine the same model with the same transmission into one card; it lists all offers for it in ascending order of total price. We show identical offers (same portal, same rental company and broker, same price and same conditions) only once.
The default is “Recommended”: we order by the total price for the whole rental period and, for conditions that often become expensive at the counter, add fixed amounts: €50 for an excess of €1,000 or more, €30 for a full-to-empty fuel policy, €30 for a rental company rating below 7, €10 without a rating and €10 if cancellation costs something. The surcharges only count for the order; the real price is always displayed. Each card shows its offer with the lowest value calculated in this way; the cards are then listed in ascending order, and if the values are equal, the price decides. The amount of the commission plays no role in this.
Instead, you can order by total price (what counts is the offer on a card with the lowest total price), by the rental company’s rating (each card then shows its best-rated offer; if the ratings are equal, the price decides) or by space (seats, then large suitcases, then price). The filters only narrow the list down; they do not change the order.
4. Transfer
By price per vehicle, ascending. The price applies to the whole vehicle, not per person.
5. Package holidays
You choose the order with “Sort”. The default is the same as at CHECK24.
- Destinations are grouped by travel area (for example “Turkey” or “Greek islands”). The default is “Top destinations”: the areas in the order in which CHECK24 lists them as the most popular travel regions, and the destinations within them by the cheapest total price in your period, ascending. You can also choose “Lowest price” (the areas by their cheapest destination), “Shortest flight time” (by the flight time CHECK24 states) and “Destinations A–Z”.
- Hotels at a destination: the default is “Popularity”, CHECK24’s order. According to CHECK24, it is based on its customers’ bookings and ratings and on how good value the prices are; CHECK24 sets the weighting. CHECK24 places individual hotels in fixed positions — we label these hotels “Highlighted by CHECK24”. You can also choose “Lowest price” (the total price of the cheapest offer, ascending) and “Best guest rating” (the rating and, if equal, the number of reviews, descending). We order these two ourselves; there are no fixed positions there. If you come to us from a Google ad and haven’t chosen an order yet, you see the hotels sorted by “Lowest price” first; “Popularity” is one tap away.
- Dates for a hotel by total price, ascending.
All package holiday offers come from a single source, CHECK24.
6. What applies to all lists
- For the offers of a property, we only show our partners (see 2).
- Which offers appear in a list depends on your search.
- Where the prices come from and when they were retrieved is shown on every list.
