In 2025, Belgium ranked 34th of 211 destination countries abroad with 558,150 passengers from Germany (own analysis of Destatis table 46421-09). Almost all landed in Brussels, and most started in Munich and Frankfurt. Since 7 September 2026, an ICE has also run directly from Cologne to Antwerp. The country consists of the regions of Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels and has four language areas, one of them German-speaking. Payment is in euros, and 16 sites are on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
