In 2025, Brazil ranked 36th of 211 destination countries abroad with 483,109 passengers from Germany (own analysis of Destatis table 46421-09). A good half landed in São Paulo-Guarulhos, almost a fifth in Rio de Janeiro-Galeão; most flights started in Frankfurt. UNESCO lists 26 World Heritage Sites in the country, the most recent being the theatres of Manaus and Belém, added in July 2026. Payment is in reais, and the official language is Portuguese. Rio and São Paulo are five hours behind German summer time and four behind CET.
