In 2025, 1,083,611 passengers boarded at the main German airports bound for Denmark, 864,116 of them to Copenhagen and 200,615 to Billund (German Federal Statistical Office, own analysis). Payment is in Danish kroner, and the national bank keeps the rate stable at around 7.46038 kroner to the euro. Banknotes of the older series and the 1,000-krone note of the current series ceased to be legal tender in June 2025 and have been worthless since June 2026. The time is the same as in Germany, and Denmark has been part of the Schengen Area since 2001. The rules on entry, safety and health are set out by the German Foreign Office.
