Paris had a good 2.1 million inhabitants in 2023. Around 1.4 million passengers from the main German airports had Paris as their destination in 2025, ranking 9th among all destinations abroad. From Charles de Gaulle airport, the RER B takes 25 to 30 minutes into the city, and Orly has been connected to Metro line 14 since June 2024. From Frankfurt and Stuttgart, direct trains arrive at Paris Est station in under four hours. The banks of the Seine between the Pont de Sully and the Pont d'Iéna, with Notre-Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991.
