In 2025, Milan was, after Rome, the Italian destination with the most passengers from Germany (own analysis): 1,254,097 flew from the main German airports to Malpensa or Linate, ranking 13th among all destinations abroad. Malpensa lies 45 km from the city, and the Malpensa Express runs to Cadorna and Centrale. Linate lies 7 km from the centre, and with the M4 metro it takes 12 minutes according to the airport operator. Leonardo's Last Supper in Santa Maria delle Grazie has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1980.
