In 2025, 453,937 passengers flew from the main German airports to Mexico, ranking 40th of 211 destination countries abroad (own analysis, German Federal Statistical Office). The most frequent destination was Mexico City, followed by Cancún. Mexico has 36 UNESCO World Heritage Sites; most recently, in 2025, the Wixárika Route through sacred sites to Wirikuta was added. Payment is in Mexican pesos. Mexico City has had no summer time since 2022, and Cancún is on UTC−5 all year round.
