Cyprus has been in the EU since 2004 and has paid in euros since 1 January 2008. In 2025, exactly 447,324 passengers flew from the main German airports to Cyprus, ranking 43rd of 211 destination countries abroad (own analysis, Destatis). Most landed in Larnaca, followed by Paphos. UNESCO's World Heritage List includes Paphos, the painted churches in the Troodos Mountains and the Neolithic settlement of Choirokoitia. Traffic drives on the left on the island, and there is no railway. The rules on entry, safety and health are set out by the German Foreign Office.
