Vienna has 23 districts and around 2.0 million inhabitants on 415 square kilometres. Two of the city's three UNESCO World Heritage Sites shape a visit: the historic centre with St Stephen's Cathedral, and Schönbrunn Palace with its park and the zoo dating from 1752. The third, since 2021, is the remains of the Vindobona legionary camp as part of the Danube Limes World Heritage Site.
In the Upper Belvedere hangs Klimt's “The Kiss”, in the Prater the Riesenrad of 1897 turns, and on the Wienzeile around 130 stalls sell their goods at the Naschmarkt. Until the end of October 2027, no train runs from the airport to Wien Mitte because of a rail closure; the Railjet reaches the main station in around 15 minutes.
