The Czech Republic pays with the koruna (CZK), not the euro; card payment is widespread. The capital is Prague on the Vltava. The sockets are types C and E at 230 V, and the emergency number is 112, as in the whole of the EU.

When it comes to beer, the country leads the way: in 2024 it was 148.8 litres per head, ranking first in the world for the 32nd time in a row. Menus feature dumplings, svíčková and goulash, and smoking is banned nationwide in restaurants and bars.
