According to the Reiseanalyse 2026, Turkey was the second most popular destination abroad for holidays of five days or more in 2025, after Spain, with a 7.8% market share. In the same year, around 9.95 million passengers flew from the main German airports to Turkish airports. In total, around 52.8 million foreign visitors came to the country in 2025, and German nationals, with around 6.7 million entries, were the second-largest group after visitors from Russia. Payment is in Turkish lira, and the clocks have been set to UTC+3 all year round since 2016. Entry requirements are set out by the German Foreign Office.
