The United Kingdom has 35 sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2024 there were around 3.2 million visits from Germany, 80 per cent of them by air; 71 per cent of the seats on direct flights from Germany to the United Kingdom go to London. Even so, guests from Germany spent 68 per cent of their nights outside London. Payment is in pounds sterling, traffic drives on the left, and sockets supply 230 volts for three-pin plugs to the British standard. The current rules on entry are set out by the German Foreign Office.
