In 2024, with almost 21 million overnight visits from abroad, London was the most visited city in the United Kingdom. Around 3.9 million passengers from the main German airports had London as their destination in 2025, a good 2.4 million of them to Heathrow. The airport is in fare zone 6 and is connected to the city centre by the Underground, the Elizabeth line and the Heathrow Express. The British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern and Natural History Museum charge no admission, and four UNESCO World Heritage Sites lie in the city.
