The Canary Islands belong to Spain, and there the clocks run one hour behind the mainland and Germany. On Tenerife lies Teide, which is also the country's highest point, a good 3,700 m high.

Payment is in euros, the mains voltage is 220 V, and the plugs have two round pins, as in the rest of continental Europe. According to Aena, the most important destination from Tenerife North is Madrid, with over a million passengers a year. The current rules on entry and safety are set out by the German Foreign Office.
